Conservation Project

Alcampo Hunting primary goal at Sierra El Álamo is to facilitate the recovery and growth of the Desert Bighorn sheep in the Great Desert of Sonora, Mexico. Our passion for these majestic animals is clearly demonstrated in our ongoing, active conservation efforts in the region. The invaluable contribution of resources hunters make to this effort is key to our ongoing success.

The return of a healthy, sustainable population of Desert Bighorn sheep to this region of Mexico, speak volumes to the conservation efforts of our family. Current, on-the-ground projects, including translocations, baseline health assessments, water developments, and other habitat improvements within and adjacent to the newly-established area have led to some of the short-term goals being achieved

The Artee family has been actively outfitting along the west coast of Sonora, Mexico since 1976. Originally founded by Javier Artee as the first of its kind in Northwest Mexico with the aim of providing personalized hunts and ultimately increasing herd sizes, this 100% family-owned business continues today under the leadership of Javier and his four sons; Javier, Jorge, Jacobo, and José Roberto.

The professional character and heart-felt dedication of the Artee family is evident in all areas of their hunting operation. References are available, upon request, to prospective hunters that want to fulfill their dream of taking a Desert Bighorn while ensuring the continued increase in wild sheep numbers for future hunters and conservationists..
